PALIN: He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.

Should have heard her comments about the "statute" of Liberty.......classic failin!

I wouldn't vote any of her stupid followers for animal control let alone an office that requires any morals, ethics or smarts.

The source is a International Business publication....and the rest of the world laughs at the stupidity of our country validating that nitwit wich actually running for office.

On Sarah's quote:

I love American History; what the hell was that?

  1. He didn't ring bells.
  2. He didn't ride through the city, it was the countryside.
  3. He wasn't warning the British, he was warning the Minutemen that the British were coming.
  4. There was no shooting.
  5. We weren't trying to be free...yet.
  6. He was not alone; there were as many as 40 riders during the night.
  7. He was detained by the British, with 2 others, on the way to Concord. The other 2 escaped; he was detained, questioned, and was being brought back to arrest when the fighting started.

GEESSSHH!!!! How can people actually listen to her?

You know that someone has absolutely no argument in defense of Palin when they have to come up with the "but other kids do stuff, too" comments. That's all they've got.

Whatever! Everyone gets facts like this wrong. It's common. All she did was leave out the part where Ichabod Craine helps out Paul Revere using his pumpkin to light the way. Really that's the most important part because if Ichabod Craine didn't help Paul he couldn't have broken bread with Jesus and we wouldn't have been able to celebrate Christmas the way we do today. Isn't that the most important part?

"...women should be seen and not heard."

Women like Sarah Palin have no business in politics, but she just puts herself on a national stage to do it over and over again. But that is not to say there aren't men that should be seen and not heard. There just aren't any at the current time that continue to put themselves out EVERY time they talk. W used to do it it, but he's left office. Dan Quayle was a good one, and Biden used to run a really close second, but Obama must have had a come-to-Jesus with him. But truly, none can top Palin at the moment. They should just take the money raised for her campaign and give it to hungry children now. It would be such a better way to use that money.

Ah, a couple of things from above:

She did do a little thing on Washington, but Colbert's take on it was priceless. Her daughter, the one who told one of the reporters "thanks for ruining our day" while at Gettysburg (nice kid), was said to have been amazed that Washington did all that hard work at Mt. Vernon. Colbert's answer, "Especially with the help of all those African volunteers."

They drove that gas guzzler above the speed limits, running red lights, stop signs, etc. Never using turn signals because of the press whom they didn't want following them in that monstrosity wrapped in the Constitution.

She stated that the Statue of Liberty was given to us by Europe as a warning??????

And from me, quoting Keith Olbermann, who will be back on the air on June 20: THIS WOMAN IS AN IDIOT.

Your comments are killing me.

Seriously, this woman has no shame. Proof that she in nothing more than an entertainer.

I may catch heck for this, but don't you find it odd that a Presidential Candidate is finally getting around to visit all of these Historical Sites. I mean, when I was little, I could not wait to see all of the places that are a part of our American heritage. And when I went to visit the museum theatre where our beloved President Lincoln was shot, I was so in awe. I actually walked the streets that Lincoln did. Most people who might later become the President of the US, dream about it when they are young. They usually are nerds, and love to read and study about our US History. They even collect American historical memorabilia.

Then came Reagan. A Screen Actor President, who mostly was famous for his movie rolls in patriotic war movies. Now don't get me wrong, he did later become Governor of California, and was well read in the history of our country, and the world. He was a self educated man, and he loved to learn. And he was as charming as they come. A natural politican. He was the once in a lifetime candidate that did not follow the tried and true rule book to become president. He was not a senator, and Yale educated. Not at all seen as an elitist.

Since Reagan, the quality of candidates for the GOP have been waning, except maybe for McCain, but then he got a smart phone, a twitter account, and he is lost now.

So what does the GOP do? They give us Palin. They are not even ashamed of it any more. They really enjoy the fact that this woman is so dumb, and label it as, "Rogue, and out of the Washington mainstream." They like it that she is dumb, because she is the very candidate to do their dirty work. She won't even stop and question whether it is constitutional or against any laws, domestic or international.

Honestly, when I see and hear her on television, I just want to throw up. This whole Tparty campaign makes me want to throw up.

People, get on your horse and ride to tell the young voters to get out and vote. I have a very strong feeling that Palin represents only a miniscule minority in our country. But only old, retired, relgious voters get out to vote.

What I want to see this next presidential campaign? 100% Voter participation.

No, what bugs me is that she destroyed any chance of my candidate, John McCain, getting elected and she's doing a great job of helping to make a joke out of the Republican party. Then there's that anti-women's rights things she's got going on - if she had her way, women wouldn't be allowed to receive abortions for pregnancies resulting from rape/incest. That whole female misogynist thing bugs me, too.

I think she makes plenty of (seemingly) concerted attempts to politically destroy herself whenever she speaks. The fact that she's "still standing" in spite of her own actions is either a miracle, or it says a lot about the low expectations of the people who support her.

As for attention, the more attention she gets, the more she talks, the more she talks the more she puts her foot in it and the more she puts her foot in it, the more laughs. No, the almost slapstick comedy aspect of Palin doesn't bug me at all.

The fact that she's "still standing" in spite of her own actions is either a miracle, or it says a lot about the low expectations of the people who support her.

It may be because she refuses to play by the Washington rules and is now a major irritant to ALL professional politicians in the Beltway...Both the Democrats and Republicans by virtue their disdain for the ordinary people in the heartland are responsible for her creation and rise to prominence. Yes!!

The "heartland" includes the beautiful state of Minnesota. While we have the shame of Michele Bachman to atone for, we also have our truly progressive governor Mark Dayton, our Democratic senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar, and our political heritage which includes Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale and Eugene McCarthy. Not too shabby, overall.

"Thanks for ruining our vacation," Piper Palin

Can that be true? I don't know. What is Palin up to? She parades herself in that motor home while claiming to be on vacation, visiting historical sites including New Hampshire right when Romney was there, and acting coy when asked if she is running for president.

These Republicans get crazier and crazier.

After McCain picks Palin as VP and puts her in the national eye she resigns as governor, commissions a book, goes on a national book signing tour. The only point to her tour was to make money. Has this been done before? Has anyone before Palin used a political campaign purely as a business venture? Now Republicans think it is a great idea. Trump did it, Gingrich is doing it. That is, simply running for president as a profit-making venture.

I am reminded of the 1960's movie The Producers where they make a Broadway show deliberately to fail so they can pocket the production cost. Republicans run for president with no goal other than making money. And that connects with the Republican idea of using government simply as a cash cow.

I've been to OLD NORTH CHURCH in Boston and I can assure you that there is a very clear, detailed and historically accurate tour that tells the full story of the Sons Of Liberty.

Sexton Robert Newman lit a lantern (for less than a minute) in the steeple.

There were 3 riders: Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Dr. Samuel Prescott.

Revere's "route" took him through present-day Somerville, Medford, and Arlington.....not Boston.

Revere's warnings spread and by the end of the night there were probably as many as 40 riders throughout Middlesex County carrying the news of the army's advance.

Revere's warning, according to eyewitness accounts of the ride and Revere's own descriptions, was "The Regulars are coming out."

HOW could Palin visit this beautiful historic landmark and not pay attention?

"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

YIKES...that poor little kid of hers is being taught gibberish.

Do you recall Republicans demanded the Constitution be read aloud in the Senate as if otherwise no one would know what it said? Another good example of psychological projection. Since Republicans despise the Constitution and advertise their ignorance with gross errors they wave the Constitution in the face of everyone else.

Recall that President Obama has a Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Harvard and was a professor in constitutional law for twelve years.

Recall also that the infamous Paul Ryan has no more than a BA in economics.

Both Clintons have J.D.s.

Obama's flub made sense. He had visited 47 seven states, hence "one more to go" after the flub as he was visiting 48 states at the time. He said 57 instead of 47. Simple transposition that a tired person might make.

Palin, on the other hand, just makes crap up as she goes that doesn't remotely add up to anything factual. It doesn't even follow the children's tale. Bells? Shooting into the air? Warning the BRITISH!?! Not to take our arms WTF!?!?!

Bad enough she doesn't know actual American history, she doesn't even know mythical American history.

Look up:

Israel Bissel- rode from Massachusetts to Philadelphia over 300 miles during the same period to alert other militias.

William Dawes - rode a different route than PR and arrived in Lexington 30 minutes later

Samuel Prescott - also on the same mission as PR and the only rider who actually completed the ride through to Concord to warn the militias. The first leg of the ride to Lexington was to warn Adams and Hancock that they were to be arrested.

Technically, it was 4 colleges over 6 years. She attended University of Idaho twice; fall '84 - spring '85, and then again spring '86, fall '86 and spring '87 (graduating with - ironically - a communications/journalism degree). U-Idaho is a real, accredited university though at the time, the admissions qualification bar was, shall we say, rather low. I have a friend that attended U-Idaho at the same time as HT Gov. Palin (though he never met her) and whom confirms that the school wasn't exactly known for its rigorous academics. Even today, a 2.2 GPA with an average SAT score gets you in.

These lower SAT colleges serve a great purpose. Most entering college with low scores have low self-esteem or simply did not have a good childhood education. U-Idaho has a great new start program. But, you have to learn what it is they're teaching you at least on some level. If Sarah was ever properly taught US history, this shouldn't be stumble pie she's thrown in her own face. Even the good parents that express championing to the bitter end a not-so-brilliant child-- have to stand back and say "truly, we love you but don't embarrass yourself darling" at least once in awhile.

She's not illiterate, she's just stupid (HUGE difference) and every time she opens her mouth, she spits @!$%#. She cannot stand on her two feet unless she has to put lipstick on her pig or shoot down a caribou by helicopter. Her parents must just cringe every time she puts herself in front of the cameras. I am sure they are supporting her and saying how cruel Americans, especially Liberals are.. The thing they must realize, as should Tpartiers; we won't tolerate stupid again. Know that, understand that, get that. In all seriousness.

We did that with George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, Haliburton and Blackwater and it almost cost us our Country and our entire civil liberties. If she (or they) think this country is full of kissin' couzins that just love her, someone needs to change their channel off the Fox network. This is really incredibly embarrassing. I am thoroughly embarrassed for our Country. I'm compassionately embarrassed for her kids. Without a doubt, embarrassed for her.

How can she look herself in the mirror when she has not one iota of US history in perspective and yet, she thinks she's Presidential material? That is one undeserved inflated meniacal ego she's wearing. She's going to fall very hard. High-horsers always do.

Is it no wonder that even Karl Rove is trying to throw her under the bus?
She needs thrown under the bus. She is utterly pathetic.

No matter what she does, she'll never be able to worm her way into whether she could become better--with more practice. It's not a stammer, it's not a speech issue--it's that she can't have a cogent thought on the public stage even if she has it lodged somewhere in her head. I don't think even someone reading into hidden earphones could help this sad state of affairs that is happening right smack dab in our American politics, where no one but our best and brightest should be standing.

My 9th grade son was reading over my shoulder and said "what an idiot"...says enough for me. But PR warning the British was a real knee slapper for any one who knows anything about history. Her major has to tell us she was trained to be an empty suit and no wonder FOX snapped her up...easily molded for their message to their viewers.

Were it not for the continued attention from the "lame stream media," Sarah Palin would be looking for work in a convenience store. She owes everything to the constant attention given her by corporate media.

Okay, Angry Left, let me rephrase this:

The "lame stream media" IS the "mainstream media," and it successfully sells Sarah Palin to a red state constituency. My point is that Republican voters are buyin' what they're sellin'.

I don't think Palin thinks when she speaks but she is probably mentally challenged so it is not completely her fault that she was given that kind of attention but she should be in an adult mental facility and not allowed to interact as if she was a competent adult or work in a position of government.

Pointing out that other people have made gaffs on occasion doesn't change the fact that Palin has put her foot in it again and pretty much steps in it every time she opens her mouth to say more than "hello".

What her fans like to say is, "Yeah, she's stupid, but other people sometimes say some dumb things, too".

That's some defense. lol

Depends on one's definition of "accomplshed." Sure, she was mayor and governor, but it seems that she violated laws and ethics to get there--and then she quit. And yes, she has a big bank account and fame. But that bank account is again from questionable ethics and the fame is based on more people laughing at her than liking or admiring her.

As I said, I'll take my life over hers any day. I am honest, curious and smart, three things Palin is definitely not.

So if one values empty fame and money over all, then yes, that person will think Palin accomplished. But I am not enamored of such superficial things.

That kind of depends on what you mean by "accomplished."

She was elected to a couple of political offices, and she does make a lot of money from her rapid, albeit misguided, followers.

She's the butt of a lot of jokes, and quit her most significant elected office. She's also the poster child for embracing ignorance.

So, if my choices are to be "accomplished" like Palin, or to live my own little obscure middle-class life, I'll take my life, thank you. There's more to life than to be known as a money-making idiot.

Now compare that to outright idiocy of Palin, who has swallowed her foot so many times I'm shocked she can still open her mouth up wide enough to let the stupid out.

Too many haters to list indivudually (I will get to that later), some even feign abhorence that someone would look down on someone else, while they are here at this seed for just that reason.

For all of you that had a question of me< I repeat, Sarah Palin has accomplished more with her life than all of you combined will in your ENTIRE lives.

She came from a middle class background, and became mayor of a small town in alaska. During her first year in office, Palin kept a jar with the names of Wasilla residents on her desk. Once a week, she pulled out a name, picked up the phone and asked: "How's the city doing?"[51] Using income generated by a 2% sales tax that had been approved by Wasilla voters in October 1992,[52] Palin cut property taxes by 75% and eliminated personal property and business inventory taxes.

In 2002, Palin ran for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor, coming in second to Loren Leman in a five-way Republican primary.[68] Following her defeat, she campaigned throughout the state for the Republican governor-lieutenant governor ticket of Frank Murkowski and Loren Leman.[69] Murkowski and Leman won, Murkowski resigned from his long-held U.S. Senate seat in December 2002 to assume the governorship. Palin was said to be on the "short list" of possible appointees to Murkowski's U.S. Senate seat,[69] but Murkowski ultimately appointed his daughter,

Governor Murkowski offered a number of other jobs to Palin, and in February 2003, she accepted an appointment to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which oversees Alaska's oil and gas fields for safety and efficiency.

In 2006, running on a clean-government platform, Palin defeated incumbent Governor Frank Murkowski in the Republican gubernatorial primary

In the November election, Palin was outspent but victorious, defeating former Democratic governor Tony Knowles by a margin of 48.3% to 40.9%.[20] She became Alaska's first female governor, and, at the age of 42, the youngest governor in Alaskan history,

Palin frequently broke with the state Republican establishment.[85][86] For example, she endorsed Sean Parnell's bid to unseat the state's longtime at-large U.S. Representative, Don Young,[87] and she publicly challenged then-Senator Ted Stevens to come clean about the federal investigation into his financial dealings.

In August 2008, Palin signed a bill authorizing the State of Alaska to award TransCanada Pipelines — the sole bidder to meet the state's requirements — a license to build and operate a pipeline to transport natural gas from the North Slope to the Continental United States through Canada.[119] The governor also pledged $500 million in seed money to support the project.[120] It is estimated that the project will cost $26 billion.[119] Newsweek described the project as "the principal achievement of Sarah Palin's term as Alaska's governor."

She has also been the nominee for the vice president of the United States and recieved MILLIONS of votes to serve in that capacity, and is also a best selling author and is a contributor on what could is by far the most watched cable news channel in the country.

And I could go on and on, I did not mention much of what she did as mayor , chairman of the Alaska oil and gas commission, and governor........and some idiots think she just sat there for a few years hoping McCain would call

I'm sorry, but every criticism that Palin gets, she more than merit it, DavidHnAZ...

He then suggested that Palin is guilty of the same failure in leadership that she has accused Obama of.

“If Barack Obama looks like he doesn’t want to go into the tougher venues…people are going to say look you are not confident in your position,” O'Reilly said. “That’s not leadership.”

Can you say the same for Obama, has he cracked open a history book?

He has, but it's likely that Palin didn't open a geography book in recent months, DavidHnAZ...

Besides not knowing that Africa was a continent...

          http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article5095495.ece

Pailn apparently didn't know that Kodak, Alaska was not the biggest island in the US...

OK, so this isn’t anywhere near as bad as thinking Africa was a country, but Sarah Palin has messed up her geography once again. In a Facebook post endorsing New Hampshire Senate candidate Kelly Ayotte, Palin said she was headed to Kodiak, Alaska, “America’s largest island.” But that’s not even close to true, the AP points out: Hawaii’s Big Island is 440 square miles larger than Kodiak.

          http://www.newser.com/story/95978/palin-screws-up-geography.html

And then there is the Russia claim...

In her interview with Katie Couric, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin again points to her state’s proximity to Russia as evidence of her national security cred. She offers, “As Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It’s Alaska. It’s just right over the border.”

But a glance at a globe shows how misdirected this claim is. No flight from Moscow to Washington would go anywhere near Alaska — they fly over the Atlantic. Take a look at Delta’s flight routes to Moscow. Even flights from San Francisco go over the Atlantic...

I don't know that I would hold that up against being elected Governor as a parallel accomplishment with equal difficulty.

It's also ironic that earlier this week Palin stated that she trying to "teach" journalists about history...

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2011/05/sarah-palin-bus-tour-journalists-/1 (Sarah Palin tries to teach journalists about history)

It would appear that Palin has failed her own course...

          GTF,

That statement alone says you don't know what the @!$%# you're talking about.

You don't just 'pass a physical' and you're in. Marine Corps boot camp is by far the hardest training a normal person will ever face. When a recruit finishes boot camp, all 13 weeks of it - they EARN the title of Marine.

They will never hear themselves called Marine until that time. Not by a recruiter, and not by a Drill Instructor. Until the moment you EARN the title, you don't rate the right to speak of it.

It's not given to them at all. Nothing is given to you. It's a novel concept, I know.

Rob, I'm not going to get into your little pissing match. You equate money and popularity with success. As I mentioned, that's all anyone needs to know about you.

Dave, if you'd like to impugn my title of a US Marine, do so freely. Just remember that it's men like me who have allowed you the privilege to misuse the English language with impunity. It's throw, not through.

Come see me when you're ready to walk a mile in my boots. Ignore the bloodstains, they're mine, and they don't wash out.

          BRITE:
And RobDebo - I hold a Double BA - which nets me - not a damned thing... but ... one of those BAs is in history - I can guarantee you that Sarah and Michelle have never... ever... cracked open a history book.

How can you guarantee that. Did you sit with them thourgh Grammar school, HS, and College (Law school in Bachmanns case). just another example of the left being full of it. You can guarantee, so since you LIED about that, your double BA claim has ZERO credibilty.

Question....is your first name Not so?

Mike.....yes, she MAKES those cameras follow he around. she forced that guy to moove in next door to them to write a flattering book about the family. I saw where she called a MESS NBC and demanded they cover her every move...or else.....

As for the rest of your remark.....I just like coming and pointing out to group thinkers that even though they dogpile, they will NEVER accomplish what Palin has. I once read that it is good for the simple to feel like they are a member of something, even if its at the expense of someone else...and you certainly are a member.

uh.. whats a MESS NBC? Is that any relation to FOX News? Are you one those people likes to use little cutesy nicknames, when they run out o anything else to say?

She has accomplished what? I hope you have something you wrote yourself, not that plagiarized article you copied in your post #20.27. It still is a violation of the Newsvine CoH

Mike Bank...no you didnt say the she made the cameras follow her around, you said she jumped in front of them or some such nonsense...accent on nonsense

What is A MESs NBc....no its not like Fox, check the ratings. They try to be like Fox, They have more sarah palin on then Fox (and she works for Fox, go figure), but they cant be Fox...they are...well A MESS.

You asked if I do cutesy nicknames when I run out of things to say...after you posted this???

How did you become and member of the Palin Protection Club? Does it cost much, do they send a pair of Sarah Palin's unwashed panties or something like that?

Did you run out of things to say there?? Or are you a do as I say not as I do Liberal....which would fit the group think box you have built around yourself.

what has she accomplished you ask (yet again)..go read post #20.27.....whether or not you think I plagiarized (by leaving in all the footnote notations---could you be any more dense?) this is a SMALL list of her accomplishments. Again, whther or not you think the list is plagiarized.....those are things Palin has done.

i could translate it for you since you dont seem to grasp that post....What has she accomplished??
More than you will in your ENTIRE life.

            Capice yet?

              RobDebo:

Here is the bottom line of this hysterical saga that's called Sarah Palin, and it follows a famous saying:

"BETTER TO BE THOUGHT A FOOL AND REMAIN SILENT; THAN TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT!"

Use common sense. Don't make statements that you KNOW you are unsure of. Take the time to open a book and research the subject; HELL, look it up on the internet.

Even someone as your vaunted hero, whose honor you are trying to defend; who "ACCOMPLISHED" so much in their life, should know that rule.

One more thing: Even with all that she has accomplished, Palin has managed to taint her own record. So you tell me where I can put the (*) at.

RobDebo, Its amazing that you two cannot keep track of something positive besides always looking for something to rag on him about. How about the time that your hero W's Father Bush 1, barfed all over the Japanese President, how much fun did you make of that? Or better still the dodging and ducking maneuver when W had a shoe winged at him? I've always wished that man would have beaned him with it, maybe it would have showed the majority of us what we already knew, he didn't have enough brains to come in out of the rain! While you are at it, why not get a life and do something that will help your fellow citizens, instead of nitpicking?

I have things about Obama I like.....never said I didnt....and, I would never wish he got beaned with a shoe. I dont want anything bad to happen to our president. Ever...no matter who the president is.

I can take your entire post and substitue her for him (Palin for Obama)...and you for me ...it is amazing that you cannot keep track of something positive besides always looking for something to rag on her about..

I guess in your world, its Ok for you, but not for me....lefty lib world...do as I say, not as I do.

BTW...I laughed when Bush barfed on the Japanese Prime Minister

As an aside...if Sarah Palin had said Japan had a president instead of a Prime Minister, or W (who didnt have enough brains to come out of the rain)...what would you have said about them if they made that error?

Does anyone else think Sarah Palin's responses remind you of the people Jay Leno speaks to on his "Jaywalking" bit? Maybe someone should buy her a copy of "The Dictionary of Cultural Literacy".

I've also noticed everytime she speaks, it is the same pattern: "Blah, blah, blah, FREEDOM, blah, blah, blah, AMERICA, blah, blah, blah, REAGAN, blah, blah, blah, GUNS, blah, blah blah, " but never anything coherent or of substance...

I see palin in a fox set up room and she still spews nonsense.

Do you think he used Teleprompters when he told the nation that Osama Bin Laden was dead?

Who cares. He succeeded where the other party failed.

                That is it!!!

It's time for a career change.

From here on out, I am going to start stealing oxygen bottles from hospitals, because after Americans read about how Sarah Palin butchered the history of our country while on her bus tour/vacation, people are going to have a hell of a time breathing because they are laughing themselves sick at this woman's expense.

How on Earth did Dan Quayle make a clone of himself and forced it to have a sex change I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW!!!!!

Thoroughly enjoying Palin's "I iz Stoopid" tour.

Why am I not surprised that Palin doesn't know actual history?

This is the same nitwit who didn't know the difference between North and South Korea, so I'm not surprised. Amused, for sure, but not surprised. Once upon a time, you knew all about the Revolutionary War before you got out of elementary school. Palin is a prime example of what's wrong with our educational system. Gotta admit, ignorance is bliss, and she looks pretty darn happy.

4th graders know that story! Jeez.

Would it insult them to venture that she has the IQ of a 4th grader? She's not even smarter than a 5th grader!

Just think how much money she could save on gas by not using a RV/Bus gas guzzler, she could invest the money in education for herself and her children....or just take the funds out of $arah PAC.....

Gives new meaning to the No Child Left Behind Act.....
